Operation FINALLY HOME
Most recently, Victory Custom Homes partnered with Operation FINALLY HOME to build a mortgage-free, custom home for a wounded veteran. Operation FINALLY HOME is a non-profit organization that provides mortgage-free homes to wounded veterans and their families to help them get their lives back on track.
Victory Custom Homes volunteered to build the home for Marine Sgt. Kenny Kalish in the Dallas-Fort Worth community, Lake Ridge at Joe Pool Lake. The mortgage-free home was built in conjunction with the Dallas Builders Association, the Former NFL Players Association and SouthStar Communities.
Countless businesses and individuals donated supplies, time and money to make the project a success. Sgt. Kalish was awarded with his new home in September 2014.
Sgt. Kalish is from Hutchinson, Kansas. Since his freshman year in high school, he has felt called to be a marine. His father served in the Navy and his grandfather was an Army Ranger. Sgt. Kalish enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2007. After bootcamp he served a tour in Iraq with a combat engineering battalion. After returning to North Carolina to be a dog handler.
